2023 在肌膚之下 Beneath the Skin

《在肌膚之下》系列源自我對樹木的長期觀察與理解。我總是被某些獨特的樹吸引，特別是那些帶有樹洞、樹瘤的樹木。在閱讀相關書籍後，我意識到這些形態其實是樹木在受傷或感染後進行自我癒合的結果。這一發現讓我開始想像，當樹木看似靜止不動時，它的內部是否正經歷著細胞不斷分裂、修復的過程？
這種無形的生命活動成為我創作的靈感來源。我試圖透過繪畫將這些隱藏於樹皮之下的變化具象化，運用色彩與筆觸描繪出另一種獨特的生命風景。這些作品既是對樹木內在世界的想像，也是對生命韌性與修復機制的詮釋。
The “Beneath the Skin” series stems from my long-term observation and understanding of trees. I have always been drawn to certain trees—especially those with hollows and burls. Through reading and research, I came to realize that these unique formations are actually the result of a tree’s self-healing process after injury or infection. This discovery led me to wonder: While a tree appears still and motionless on the outside, could its interior be undergoing a constant cycle of cell division and repair?
This invisible life force became a key inspiration for my work. Through painting, I attempt to visualize the hidden transformations occurring beneath the bark—translating these unseen processes into color and brushstrokes, creating an alternative vision of life’s landscapes. These works are not only an imaginative exploration of a tree’s inner world but also a reflection on the resilience of life and its intrinsic ability to heal itself.
